Maggie Rogers

Oblivious Pop and 60 other users successfully predicted 5 years ago that Maggie Rogers would become popular.

Senne wrote 4 years ago

Haha, those looks on Pharrell's face. Brilliant!

Disco Naïveté wrote 4 years ago

going viral atm.

Senne wrote 4 years ago

Better get this to 100% then

Sodwee wrote 4 years ago

Done.

dearskye wrote 4 years ago

Oh my god, whatever she played to Pharrell - what is that blessed sound.

Roelheid wrote 4 years ago

Love her sound so much. Can't wait till she releases new stuff!

Lex Low wrote 4 years ago

That's where I recognise her from! The Pharrell video. Was trying to work it out for ages on the home page.

Indie Trendsetters wrote 3 years ago

Wow. I'm losing my mind over "Alaska"

musicthatwelike wrote 3 years ago

200k plays on SC already, lol.

Missy Scheinberg wrote 3 years ago

Now managed by Mick Mgmt! Wow.

Deep Shah wrote 3 years ago

looking to be first to hit 50 agrees on HH? (or has someone already got there?)

Senne wrote 3 years ago

The only one with more than 50 is Tsar B with 56 agrees. Maggie Rogers is #24 trending right now, so if you still want to agree, better do it fast!

Senne wrote 3 years ago

By the way, she's on par now with Billie Eilish and Okay Kaya who also have 49 agrees. Women clearly rule HumanHuman!

EarsOnly wrote 3 years ago

ok

Missy Scheinberg wrote 3 years ago

Now 54. So close, let's break records!

Going Solo wrote 3 years ago

Here for the record

MusicalHeARTBeat wrote 3 years ago

#breakingrecords

Senne wrote 3 years ago

59! She's now the most agreed on artist ever on HumanHuman :-)

Rick Moreno (Duly Noted Records) wrote 3 years ago

60 agrees??? This is an ok song + Pharrell approved. She had like four tracks up online before launching this one when they all came down. If those tracks reappear I'm not sure we'll be so keen as a forum.

Senne wrote 3 years ago

I agreed 3 months ago because of Blood Ballet, which is a gorgeous song that's been taken down now unfortunately. Not sure if those 4 or so tracks will ever reappear though… Each one of them were entirely different from Alaska and she's obviously rebranded herself.

Going Solo wrote 3 years ago

I was about to say something similar to what Rick said. My point was a lil bit different though... As I wrote above, I'm here "for the record" and of course because she'll be huge no matter what, due to Pharrell.

That said, it might happen the same thing happened with Kiiara.. tons of agree on the debut and a lot of disappointment next. My question is.. Would we all jumped on this boat if it were not for Pharrell? If the same song were uploaded on Soundcloud by a Norwegian act without a huge push by a famous musician, I'm quite sure that we would have had only few blogs to post about this track.

Missy Scheinberg wrote 3 years ago

But it's not just that it's a Pharrell co-sign or whatever... It's way beyond that. It was the viral nature behind that video, and the genuineness behind Pharrell's facial expressions and "co-sign". Even if her next track doesn't live up to Alaska, for me, I'm agreeing with how it's such a great tune, with such a story behind it. I mean, she's at over 150,000 Facebook fans now, in a matter of weeks. That's amazing in itself.

Disco Naïveté wrote 3 years ago

let's just agree she's off to a great start but has yet to prove her real value as a career artist.

musicthatwelike wrote 3 years ago

This is lovely too. Think she has some great long term potential. Maybe not as a popstar, but in the indie charts for real.
